For saddles purchased at TEC

For saddles purchased and fitted at our premises, a consultation fee is applicable per horse, unless otherwise stated.  For saddles fitted at our premises there is no automatic right to cancellation or to a refund.  We operate a strict seven day exchange policy for all goods purchased at our premises.  Any gestures of goodwill or refunds are at the discretion of the owner, Lynette McKeown.  You will have the opportunity to try out and ride before purchase and if in the unlikely event you are not happy with your purchase we will work with you to find you a suitable alternative.  If there are no suitable alternative's available we may offer a discretionary refund or credit to the value of the goods, subject to a deduction for wear and tear commensurate with use. This is normally 20% for standard wear & tear.

For saddles purchased/fitted at your premises

For saddles purchased and fitted away from our premises, a call out fee is applicable on all visits. Our call out generally covers travel to you the customer and consultation for one horse.  Additional horses at the same location will be charged in addition to the callout fee.

For purchases made at your own premises standard stock saddles are covered by "Doorstep Selling" consumer regulations and are sold subject to a right to cancel offering a full refund within 14 days from the day after the date of purchase.  If you wish to exercise your right to cancel you must notify us in writing or by email within 14 day notice period. Full refunds of the purchase price will be issued less any callout/postage fees incurred, when saddles are in new un-soiled condition.

For saddles that have been ridden on during this period a deduction will be made from the original purchase price commensurate with use and at the discretion of owner, Lynette McKeown. This deduction will be confirmed in writing before the refund is processed.

For special orders/bespoke saddles

For all special orders/bespoke saddles, these are non-returnable and non-refundable.  Upon ordering your new saddle a 50% deposit will be taken by your fitter and you will be advised of the approximate lead time for delivery.  It is important that you maintain your horse's condition and weight to ensure your saddle fits once made.  Your saddle will be made to template, so it is important that your horse's template doesn't alter too much, this will be discussed with you prior to purchase.  Our fitters are able to make adjustments to allow for some minor changes for example to flocking, once a saddle has been delivered.  Deposits taken for bespoke orders are non-refundable if you cancel your order after five days from the date of order.

Order cancellations must be received in writing or electronic mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. within this five day period to receive a refund; this will be issued less any callout fees/expenses incurred at time of order.

Any outstanding monies must be paid in full at the time of, or prior to delivery of the goods. If goods are being shipped full payment must be made by bank transfer prior to the goods being shipped.

TEC reserve all title to goods until paid for in full.

Faults & Repairs

All of our bespoke saddles are beautifully hand crafted so there may be slight variances on construction depending on the saddler.  If in the unlikely event your saddle is faulty, you must return it to us within the first 30 days of purchase for full refund or replacement.  If you are outside of your 30 days, any faulty items returned to us will be subject to the terms of our manufacturers warranty.  Any goodwill gestures outside of the warranty terms will be subject to the discretion of TEC.

Your saddle may need rechecking and rebalancing within the first 30 days.  Call out charges apply however, any flocking alterations are free of charge within the first 30 days.  Any alterations made to a saddle after 30 days from purchase will be charged at our standard rates. This includes flocking, head plate changes and callout fees.

Your saddle will be fitted based on the fitting appointment, your horses template and the ridden assessment. This does not guarantee that the saddle will always be the perfect fit. Horses change, riders change and therefore the saddle may need adjusted or changed. If outside the time periods outlined this requires a new appointment which must be paid for.

It is important to understand that budget, cosmetic preferences, perfect fit and our demo stock do not always produce the perfect solution. If a saddle is purchased primarily with budget in mind it is unlikely to provide a perfect fit. Our fitter will do their best to ensure you are aware of the compromise you are choosing to make. This will be noted on your fitting form.

Your saddle will need to be checked regularly for fit and balance as explained by our fitter at the time of purchase. It is your responsibility to contact us to arrange this.  We recommend a six monthly check to account for seasonal changes.

All new saddles are covered by the manufacturers warranty for your peace of mind.
